Aboriginal Council

The Rank and File acknowledges that an Aboriginal Council is an important forum for our members to discuss and highlight issues that need the support and work of the Union.

Achievements:

  • Establishment of Aboriginal Council which meets regularly in various locations around NSW.

  • Establishment of an Aboriginal Unit within the PSA to ensure better integration of the concerns of Aboriginal members into the industrial teams

The Rank and File commits to:

  • Ensure regular meetings that consist of a minimum of 12 PSA members to be nominated and elected annually.

  • Those persons elected to the AC shall elect by secret ballot a Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary. The General Secretary or President or Assistant General Secretary of the PSA shall act as returning officer.

  • The AC shall support PSA Industrial staff in establishing and supporting Aboriginal Support Networks in all NSW Public Sector Agencies.
